Will you join me?

It seems that since we have embarked on this quest for helping people live better lives, it has been such a rocky road. When Doug entered Chiropractic school, we were thinking, "Great, 5 more years of school and scraping by, then graduation and the money will come flooding in, while we are changing so many lives."
Well, the "changing so many lives" part is true, but the flood of money has not happened yet. It has been a trickle, a drip, sometimes air, and then a trickle, at best a medium-sized trickle. All of which we had to seemingly fight for.
I know that the flood is still coming, we are closer to it every day. Soon we will be looking back saying, "Man that was tough, but it was worth it for what we have now."
Then there is the helping the planet and our bodies by eating organic and vegetarian food. However, it comes at a high price. So does driving a hybrid. Sure it is cheap on gas, but the payments are sky high!
Just to recycle costs money, either driving to the recycling center or paying for the city to pick it up at your house.
Buying organic and natural household cleaners and personal care products, way more expensive.
Off-setting carbon emissions, expensive. "Greening" up a house, expensive.
Generally helping society comes with a price tag.
I wonder, is it just this country, or is it worldwide? Is there anywhere that you can help and not have to pay for your philanthropic efforts? Or is it just that the world seems so self-absorbed, that unless you are self-absorbed too, you will pay the price?
I know one thing, we are breaking out of this cycle of insanity by helping to raise the consciousness of the world.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world."
Will you join me?
