Jen under House Arrest

This week, and until December (probably) I am under "house arrest" as I am stranded without a car, and without my husband's help. He took on a teaching job at Greenville Tech, on top of working in his practice, doing spinal screenings, and trying to get things underway to move the practice. I was really enjoying my "me time" this summer. I went riding nearly every week, and yoga once a week, on top of the occasional errand on my own. Now, it is all over. There just isn't the time any more. Beth asked me to go riding next week, but of course, Doug is working at that time, and the days are steadily growing shorter so we can't go later. My friends are back to school and moved or working, so they can't come over here. When my husband comes home finally, he is exhausted, and pretty much falls asleep, or he has more work to do on the computer.
I am trying to stay positive about it all. I find ways to occupy the kids and myself. Yesterday I cleaned out a closet, I did ALL the laundry in the house, and cleaned up outside. Though the weekend is pretty much here, and there is no hope for adult time as Doug will be at the "Women's Show" all weekend doing a screening.
I got out this morning and went grocery shopping alone before Doug had to leave, and that was nice. Although, the effect didn't last too long, and it just reinforced my frustration at being cooped up in the house.
I am so thankful that we have a house though, and a yard to get out and play in. We have been in this situation before, and been in an apartment. That was the worst because there was nowhere to go outside for fresh air, and we couldn't sit on our screened-in porch because the neighbors were chain smokers. So, we definitely have it better now.
If anyone is around, and wants to come visit, I would enjoy some adult conversation to break up my day!
