Have you ever heard me say how much I love South Carolina? (probably about a million times now!)
Yesterday we went up to the mountains, and hiked a trail in the Dupont forest, where there is beautiful waterfalls. I have been wanting to take Doug and the kids up there since Beth and I went riding there a few months ago now. While we couldn't walk to all the waterfalls, we chose the prettiest two, and took it slow with the kids.
We strapped Grant to Doug for most of it, and he loved it, calling it his "Daddy Ride." The other two did a great job walking, well actually running ahead of us (except in the really high spots and the rocky spots). We took a lot of breaks with them, but they did about 3 miles round trip. I was proud of their efforts.
It was a perfect fall day. The kind of weather where you could wear long sleeves or short sleeves with total comfort. The sky was clear blue, and a few trees were just starting to show their magnificent colors. It was wonderful!
It is so nice to be able to take these little day trips. Beach and Ocean one weekend, and Mountain hiking the next, who could ask for more?!
