Today we:
Woke up, Yay!
Then Doug went to the office and I cooked all morning making scrumptious southwest burgers, salt-n-vinegar roasted potatoes, and sweet corn.
After we ate, we went on our own "farm tour." The first farm ended up being a flop. The gardener/ owner wasn't there, and all they had was expensive crafts and novelties. No produce.
The second farm, we have been to before, Barefoot farms of Belton. The people are super-cool, and are very passionate. Before you can even tell them what you want to buy, they give you a tour of the whole place, tell you everything they are working on, make you feed the chickens, horses and goat, pet the dogs, and talk your ear off about their lives and kids and their lives. (Luckily, even though they are SUPER southern christian, they never once talked about church or the bible or if we were saved or shared the same views). Last time we went in the fall, we were there like 5 hours literally. Today about 2 1/2, but fun-filled and we even got to pick our own goods. We probably could have even collected the eggs if they hadn't already done it, or killed a chicken if we cared to. It was a great experience, but be armed with time if you ever go, because it is an experience. I always feel like I am robbing them too, as they work so hard for what they grow, and you get a ton for very little money. I tried to give her an extra dollar as it came to $29, and she wouldn't even hear of it, she had to go search for one.
Then, we came home, ate dinner, and went to a friend's going away pool party. We all swam, and poor Grant was falling asleep in his floaty baby boat!
The kids zonked out so fast when we got home, it was great! I wish we could fall asleep right now, caffeine rush, AAAHHHHH!!!!! I feel like that "Meet the Robinsons" movie where the lady says "I am on the 'caffeine patch' each one is the equivalent of 8 pots of coffee" and she has like 20 on her arms! Will I be up for 3 days?
