Crossroads Again

It seems that Doug and I have found ourselves at one of those crossroads in life once again. It happens to us quite often, so I should expect it. Big changes, quick changes, very little time before the door closes forever. In fact it has happened to us so much since we graduated from under-grad that we have lived in 5 different states, and 2 of them twice, and NONE of them close, had three kids, Doug has had 3 major Chiropractic positions, owned a practice, and is now working on a huge change in that. A few things are certain through it all, we have remained strong, devoted to our causes and each other, and changed a ton of lives for the better, some so much so that the people are so different from when we found them that they are all like another person. Better people living to their fullest potential.
I wonder sometimes if we were an ounce more selfish or self-centered if we would be more financially stable, or have owned at least one asset, or stayed in one place. I wouldn't change any of it though, and have no regrets, just a few tender spots when I think back on what we have been through.
So, now Doug has a business partner, and they are going to move the practice downtown, and we had a rough month for income in the practice due to all the changes and getting things together. But "Hope is the thing with wings that perches in the soul," and there is still 8 more days left in the month to bring in a flood of money and take our worries away!
Yesterday we debated and calculated, brainstormed, and finally attracted some viable options.
This morning Doug already had a new door open. Greenville Tech offered him a teaching position for the fall term as an Anatomy/ Physiology teacher for a class. I think he might take it, and that would be some extra cash and fulfill a desire of his.
Then Doug and Dr. Matt (the bus. partner) came up with another plan, an investor who is a loyal patient to get this thing underway downtown. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one!
Step three was his e-mail to Chirosystems (the "owners" of his practice) to go fly a kite, in the nicest possible way (a little too nice in my estimation).
Step four is scurrying to get all the files together and the office stuff sold off before they try to take it from him.
I know in a year, heck a few months, our lives will be unrecognizable to our current state. Maybe this time, the crossroads will lead us to a smoother, surer path!

You are destined to do really well together. I am always so impressed with your relationship and common drive to make the world a better place for so many. Question...why do we always have to verify some fake word just to publish a comment?
