Expelling the Venom

Today was one of those days that you just want to erase from your life. It is almost comical how things "pop up" when you are negatively attracting. I try to stay positive most of the time, but damn it, there are just days when it is so hard!

It started out this morning with a conversation about Doug's practice, and whether the partner he took on can be trusted to do what he claimed he would. I am in serious doubt at this point, waiting for the action behind the words. Wondering if he is just another wolf out there that is seeing Doug's skills and hard work as something he can take advantage of. So, it was quite an emotional discussion to say the least.

Then, a little while after he left for work, Mom and I got a frantic phone call from
Doug saying he left his keys in our car, and needed us to bring them right away. So, I jumped in the car and rushed to the office to open his door.

Then, I got home and had to take Mom to her massage appointment I gave to her as a present. When we got back from picking her up again, we saw a strange sight in the driveway. There was a male squirrel eating a baby squirrel. UUGGHH!!!
We found a dead one in the driveway yesterday, and thought it just fell out of it's nest. Then as we were eating lunch, we heard more squeals from the baby squirrels. Nothing we could do, that is nature, however grotesque it may be. However, as I was about to put Grant in bed for his nap, Mom called to me to come outside. I ran out there with Grant in my arms, and saw that she was standing over two more baby squirrels. One of them was dead, but the other was moving around, hurt.
I told her to put him in something and I went to call the wildlife animal rescue. They asked me to bring the squirrel and meet me in a parking lot. I strapped Grant in the car and hurried the squirrel out to the lady, hoping it didn't die on the way. It was bleeding out of it's nose. Poor thing!
When the rescuer looked at it, she said it was going to be fine, and had no broken bones, just a nosebleed. I hope so!

In the meantime, Doug was dealing with his own drama at the office. He had done an exam on a new patient, and then adjusted him. The guy told him he felt funny, and tingly. Doug had him sit up and breathe, while he asked him some questions. All of a sudden, the guy went white, and passed out, hitting his head against a shelf before Doug could react, and gashing his head open. He called an ambulance, and then sat holding the guy's head, until he came to. He was disoriented, but okay. The paramedics and the patients confirmed that he just had a panic attack because of the exam. He is prone to passing out whenever he has any sort of medical procedure. He needed stitches though. Doug was pretty shaken, and had feared he might have had a stroke or something (a Chiropractor's worst fear that has been propagated by tainted media).

Wait, that is not the end of my crazy day. My good friend Beth called me tonight, and told me that she totalled her car yesterday. It happened because she was trying to pick up a call on her cellphone from me! Thankfully everyone was fine, but I feel horrible. She said it could have been anyone, but I just wish it wasn't me calling. Just the icing on the cake to the day. I am so glad that my husband can take care of her spine now.

I think we are all going to get together and eat some chocolate and drink beer or something. I have got to expel this venom!

Venomous days be damned. We try to ask for the best, but shit happens sometimes!
